N.Korea Announces Missile Test, Blasts S.Korean 'Warmongers'
VOA News
July 27, 2019 08:09
North Korea has formally announced its latest ballistic missile test, saying the launch was a warning to "military warmongers" in South Korea who are set to soon hold joint military exercises with the United States.
North Korean state media showed pictures of Kim Jong-un personally supervising the Thursday test of what it called a "new-type tactical guided weapon." U.S. and South Korean officials say the projectile was a short-range ballistic missile.
The official [North] Korean Central News Agency said the test was meant "to send a solemn warning to the south Korean military warmongers who are running high fever in their moves to introduce the ultramodern offensive weapons into south Korea and hold military exercise in defiance of the repeated warnings."

Why Can't Seoul Speak up to China and Russia?
July 25, 2019 13:30
Russia's Defense Ministry on Wednesday denied violating Korea's airspace over the easternmost islets of Dokdo and accused Korean fighter jets of engaging in "unprofessional maneuvers" by firing warning shots. Russia went even further in media releases baldly stating that it carried out its "first joint long-range air patrol with China" in the Asia Pacific region against the alliance between South Korea, Japan and the U.S. Hong Kong media quoted a Chinese military expert as saying that the latest incursion was a "warning" to Seoul not to side with the U.S. in its conflict with China. In other words, the aerial incursions were a calculated provocation.

The World Council of Churches invites all people of good will to observe a Sunday of Prayer for the Peaceful Reunification of the Korean Peninsula on 11 August.
Each year, Christians are invited to join in a prayer for peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula. Prepared by the National Council of Churches in Korea and the Korean Christian Federation, the prayer is traditionally used on the Sunday before 15 August every year.
The 15th of August, celebrated as Liberation Day in both North and South Korea, marks the date in 1945 when Korea won independence from Japanese colonial oppression, yet ironically it also was the day when the peninsula was divided into two countries.
